Cowan, Kentucky

Cowan is in Fleming county about 12 miles west of Flemingsburg on the Elizaville Road. It was established in 1872 as a station on the Maysville and Lexington Railroad on land purchased from John Henry Cowan.

The Cowan post office operated from 1872 to 1958.
