Mount Carmel, Kentucky
Mount Carmel is in Fleming county about seven miles northeast of Flemingsburg. It was named by early settlers by 1820 for the biblical location. A flourishing town in the nineteenth century, the population surpassed 200.
Mount Carmel was incorporated in 1825, but was later dissolved.
The Mount Carmel post office opened in 183 and closed in 1932.
