Poplar Flat, Kentucky
Poplar Flat was a Lewis county community about 10 miles west of Vanceburg. It was apparently named for local poplar trees. It was the county seat at the formation of the county in 1807, but the seat was moved to Clarksburg in 1809.
The Poplar Flat post office opened in 1836 and closed in 1930.
