Prestonville, Kentucky
Prestonville is a Carroll county, across the Kentucky River from Carrollton. The town of Preston was established in 1795, but it soon became known as Prestonville. It is named for Francis Preston, an early land owner. The Prestonville post office was authorized in 1844 and post offices known as Prestonville or Wide-Awake operated at various locations in the area until 1954. Prestonville has been incorporated since 1867. The population in 2010 was 161.
